Job Summary

Thurgood Marshall Academy seeks a passionate, energetic, dedicated, knowledgeable individual for a Dean position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Deans are responsible for:

  • Creating a positive school culture
  • Administering the Code of Conduct
  • Overseeing academic and disciplinary probation
  • Implementing incentive and reward programs
  • Communicating regularly with families regarding student progress

Qualifications

  • A strong commitment to Thurgood Marshall Academy’s mission
  • Three years of teaching experience preferred for a Dean position
  • Administrative credential preferred, but not required
  • A strong commitment to academic success for our students
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to work well with a diverse faculty
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication, and organizational skills

  • Phase I – Applicants submit a resume and detailed cover letter which addresses this announcement. Applicants then appear for the initial interview and/or phone interview.
  • Phase II – Applicants participate in an interview with faculty, staff, students, and families.
  • Phase III – In this final phase, the applicant must interview with members of the TMA Leadership Team.
