Thurgood
Marshall Academy dedicates new home
On
October 18, 2005, we celebrated the official opening
of our permanent facility in the renovated and
expanded former Nichols Avenue School building.
Trustees, staff, students, and parents were joined
by supporters including law firm partners, donors,
foundation representatives, business leaders,
and public officials such as Mayor Anthony Williams,
D.C. Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes
Norton, and Senator Mary Landrieu. Our old
building had only 10 classrooms—our new, permanent
facility has 21 educational spaces, including
a moot courtroom, a resources, and 3 purpose-built
science labs.

in an article on schools' teaching about Rosa
