> Be a Mentor
Do you want to give back to your community but have
very little time to do so? For just five hours each
month, mentoring is an incredible way to support local
high school students in your community. Our mentor
program pairs a student with an adult professional
who can offer support, advice, and guidance during
a student's final years of high school and the critical
post-secondary planning process.
Mentoring can improve a student's attitude towards
school, enhance his/her confidence, and afford the
invaluable opportunity to interact with a positive
role model.
One Saturday morning a month, Thurgood Marshall Academy
mentors and students gather to participate in a variety
of fun and enriching activities. Past Mentor Day events
have included:
- College campus visits
- Group community service projects
- Bowling
- Georgetown basketball games
- Museum scavenger hunts
- IMAX movies
Mentor one child, change two
lives.
