Thurgood Marshall Academy seeks volunteers to assist us with our efforts to advance student achievement.

Volunteers help us with:

Mentoring—Thurgood Marshall Academy pairs each mentor with an individual student; mentors offer our students adult role models and a sympathetic ear, calling students to offer encouragement, participating in group activities with all students and mentors, and planning one-on-one activities with their individual mentee. Law Days—Volunteer attorneys and law students lead our students in monthly workshops that teach them about important cases and issues that affect students everyday lives, from the law and gangs to civil rights (an individual attorney or a whole firm can work on a single Friday afternoon Law Day or make a greater commitment).

We also have shorter volunteer opportunities.
