We appreciate the support we have received from foundations, government agencies, and individuals. Every few months, we will highlight three supporters of Thurgood Marshall Academy; we recognize these funders making a difference in our students' lives.
The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation
"The Hewlett Foundation's programs have ambitious goals that include: helping to reduce global poverty, limiting the risk of climate change, improving education for students in California and elsewhere, improving reproductive health and rights worldwide, supporting vibrant performing arts in our community, advancing the field of philanthropy, and supporting disadvantaged communities in the San Francisco Bay Area."
21st Century Learning Centers
"This program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children."
Hogan Lovells
Hogan Lovells DC has been a long-standing supporter of Thurgood Marshall Academy through our Law Day program. We would especially like to thank the 2010 Summer Associates, who made a donation this year on behalf of the Recruitment Staff and Summer Associate Committee.
