> Responsibilities

Thurgood Marshall Academy expects its students to take responsibility for their own education. This means:

  • Arriving on time to school every day—before 8:45 am—and attending all classes on time.
  • Completing all homework assignments on time and to the best of their ability.
  • Participating fully in all parts of the Thurgood Marshall Academy curriculum (i.e., academics, community service, and enrichment activities).
  • Reflecting the goals of this community through their dress (always in full uniform unless otherwise specified) and through their behavior.
  • Creating a respectful, positive learning environment, allowing teachers and students to demand the best of them, while demanding the best of teachers and fellow students.
  • Following the Code of Conduct and presenting no significant or continuing discipline problems.

All students receive an annually updated Student Handbook, which outlines the specific expectations of a Thurgood Marshall Academy student.
